ALL PROCEEDS are going to the organization New Eyes for the Needy. This organization is better known for sending resources abroad but also helps visually-impaired people locally so that they too can live active and productive lives.

PLEASE BRING ANY USED EYEGLASSES OR SUNGLASSES YOU MAY HAVE. Collection bins will be set up inside the entrance of the venue.

The eyeglasses collected in good condition are sent to medical missions and international charitable organizations for distribution to the poor in developing nations. Last year New Eyes provided eyeglasses to 161,000 people in developing nations and 5,167 needy residents of the U.S. It costs $60 to purchase 1 pair of eyeglasses for someone in need. My goal is to raise $10,000 which will give glasses to 166 young people in the 5 boroughs.

Diana Epstein on behalf of New Eyes for the Needy

New Eyes for the Needy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1932 to improve the vision of the less fortunate.

New Eyes is endorsed by:
The National Society for the Prevention of Blindness
    Fight for Sight, Inc.
    The American Academy of Ophthalmology
    The Opticians Association of America

New Eyes for the Needy works to empower children and adults in the United States and overseas with the improved vision they need to pursue a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. To that end, New Eyes purchases new prescription eyeglasses through a voucher program for children and adults in the United States who cannot afford glasses on their own. New Eyes accepts, recycles and distributes donated glasses for poor people overseas.

Since its founding in 1932, New Eyes has brought improved vision and hope for a better future to more than 7,000,000 people in the U.S. and around the world. New Eyes for the Needy is a non-profit, non-sectarian volunteer organization based in NJ. For about $60, New Eyes for the Needy can improve a person's life. Each new pair of glasses purchased by New Eyes helps a child succeed in school, an adult secure a job, or provide a senior citizen with a better quality of life.
